We’re thrilled to introduce Danny, the newest addition to our board at Sierra Community House! With over 20 years of dedicated service in law enforcement with Truckee PD, Danny brings a wealth of experience, commitment, and a genuine passion for community well-being. Join us as we learn more about Danny’s journey, motivations, and vision for his role on our board.

Can you tell us a bit about your professional background and what led you to join our board?

With over 20 years in law enforcement at Truckee PD, I’ve had the privilege of serving our community in various roles focused on safety and well-being. I wanted to join the board at Sierra Community House because I believe deeply in building bridges between law enforcement and the community through understanding, proactive support, and public service.

What motivated you to join our organization?

Sierra Community House is doing remarkable work in providing essential services to those in need, from food distribution, crisis intervention, and victim support. I’m motivated by a desire to contribute to these efforts and ensure that people facing challenges feel supported not only by social services but also by local law enforcement.

How do you envision contributing to our mission?

My goal is to bring a perspective that enhances our community’s safety while fostering empathy and trust. I envision working closely with Sierra Community House to increase access to critical resources and bridge any gaps between public safety and community support.

What are your hobbies or interests outside of work?

Outside of work, I enjoy being active outdoors, boating, golfing, and attending my kids’ soccer games and tournaments. I love spending quality time with family and friends—it’s one of the best ways to recharge and stay connected to the people who have always been there for me.

Can you share a fun fact about yourself that might surprise us?

A fun fact about my journey is that I started as an automotive mechanic before becoming a police officer. I then had the opportunity to serve in every rank at the Truckee Police Department—starting as a police officer, then moving through special assignments, detective, sergeant, lieutenant, and Chief. Experiencing each role has given me invaluable insight into the unique challenges and rewards at every level of public safety. It’s shown me how impactful local law enforcement can be in our communities and how crucial it is to build strong, trusting relationships.

Danny’s dedication to public service and community trust shines through in everything he does, from his law enforcement work to his family activities and beyond. We’re incredibly excited to welcome him to the Sierra Community House family and look forward to the unique perspectives and positive impact he will bring. Thank you, Danny, for your commitment to creating a stronger, safer, and more connected community!
