The Sierra Community House Board of Directors is happy to welcome a new member, Amie Quirarte! Amie brings a wealth of experience and passion to our team, and we had the opportunity to connect with her to learn more about her background and what inspires her to serve our community.

Can you tell us a bit about your professional background and how it led you to this board position?

I am a licensed real estate broker in both California and Nevada, and I have been selling real estate for over ten years in the Tahoe area. Before being a licensed broker, I worked in the field as an escrow and transaction manager, which allowed me to learn the trade prior to jumping into it. This profession is a social and community-oriented business, and it brought me to Sierra Community House through the connections I have made over the years. I have sat on many local boards, as well as a couple out of the area, and I am very excited to bring my knowledge, skill set, and enthusiasm to Sierra Community House!

Who or what inspires you in your professional and personal life?

The people who inspire me the most are the mothers who, despite all odds, somehow seem to do everything, all at once, without any breaks. As a mother of two, I deeply understand the struggle, guilt, and balance of being a working mom. I am constantly impressed by the women who show up to lead every day, knowing they are in the thick of it in their home life, too.

In what ways do you plan to engage with the community as a board member?

I am most excited about engaging in the fundraising and events sector of the foundation. I was recently named chair for the fundraising committee, and it is an honor I do not, and will not, take lightly. We are going to have some fun!

Can you share a story or example of how you’ve seen Sierra Community House make a difference?

I have seen Sierra Community House make an impact on so many people’s lives that it is hard to widdle it down to one. This organization does so much for a large group of people, and our community is so lucky to have it.

Sierra Community House’s Board of Directors connects dedicated individuals like Amie who are committed to empowering our community through their expertise and passion.
