10 Questions for Jim
What motivated you to join Tahoe SAFE Alliance 10 years ago?
I was interested in a situation where my efforts would have greater influence on the fiscal operations of an organization.
What has been your proudest moment during your time here?
Looking back ten years, my proudest moments include working with all co-workers/peers, partners, and board members to help four strong, unique organizations become one to provide better services to the community.
How do you stay motivated and focused on the mission during challenging times?
My nature and nurture are to “buckle down” and do what is needed, for better and for worse. I support, practice, ask Jessica and Virginia to embrace self-care, I think it’s different for everyone but for me it’s increasingly important to create balance in my life.
What’s a goal you’re still eager to achieve in your role?
An efficient fiscal operation that can be transferred to another Fiscal Director when that day comes.
What are your hopes for the future of Sierra Community House?
STABILITY

May – Sept is a bike ride, dark cold months – lift weights.
If you could have dinner with any three people, dead or alive, who would they be and why?
Genevieve (wife and very alive), my mom (very alive), my dad (not alive) and my sister (very alive), they are my core peeps, and yes, it’s four!

What’s your go-to coffee or tea order to kickstart your day?
Green bag of Peet’s Organic French Roast, 1 large spoonful per cup, sunshine deli, nice breakfast burrito!
What’s a memorable or funny moment you’ve experienced at Sierra Community House?
Talking with our current auditor, on a good day, he laughed that another agency referred to The California Office of Emergency Services as CalOES – as Cal O’s, like a cereal. That’s accounting humor that I remember 😊!
