Can you tell us a bit about your professional background and what led you to join our board?
I am Chief Legal Counsel for The California Workforce Development Board (CWDB). CWDB oversees investments and policy initiatives to advance quality jobs as a reliable pathway to the middle class for Californians. I joined Sierra Community House as a volunteer attorney in 2018 when my family first moved to the area, and I joined the board because I believe in its mission.
What do you look forward to contributing to Sierra Community House Board?
I hope to uplift the important work Sierra Community House does in our community by supporting its leadership, and helping fundraise and bring awareness to its programming.
What does an inclusive, safe, and healthy community mean to you? How do you envision Sierra Community House making this possible for North Tahoe/Truckee?
An inclusive, safe, and healthy community is one where all members feel they belong and are supported. By connecting members of the community with the services they need, Sierra Community House is a bulwark for the people in our region.
What are your hobbies or interests outside of work?
I love to mountain bike, run, paddle, and cross-country ski. Outside, moving my body in the mountains, is my happy place.
Can you share a fun fact about yourself that might surprise us?
I adore learning. In addition to my law degree, I have a PhD in philosophy (ethics and public policy). Sometimes I joke about being a “double doctor.” Just don’t rely on me in a medical emergency.
