Why:
The Chocolate & Wine Festival is Sierra Community House’s largest annual fundraiser, and this year it falls during Domestic Violence Awareness Month. In 2024, the organization provided more than 2,500 victim support services to 327 survivors of domestic abuse, sexual assault, child abuse, stalking, sex trafficking, and related violence.
One local survivor shared, “Sierra Community House gave me and my children a safe place to go when we had nowhere else. They helped us heal and start over.”
This year’s theme, “Under One Sky,” reflects both the spirit of the event and the mission of Sierra Community House: to ensure that, no matter the challenge, neighbors are supported by interconnected services that honor the shared humanity of our community.
Quote:
“Our community is deeply connected—we live, work, and thrive together under one sky,” said Paul Bancroft, Executive Director of Sierra Community House. “This October, as we mark Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the Chocolate & Wine Festival is not just a celebration—it’s a powerful way to stand together for survivors and to raise critical funds that provide food, shelter, legal support, and community programs for thousands of neighbors each year.”
Who:
Community members, supporters, and friends are invited to attend. Media are welcome to cover this popular annual celebration.
