“Any time I’m eating spicy noodles in a bowl, I’m happy.” – Anthony Bourdain

On Monday, September 25th, Rakkan Ramen will be officially opening their doors in Truckee at 10001 Soaring Way, Unit 160, and they’re marking the occasion with a special fundraiser to benefit Sierra Community House. The new noodle joint will be offering  a unique dining experience – the first 100 bowls of their delicious ramen will be Pay what you’d like, with all proceeds going to this local non-profit that is focused on Hunger Relief, Family Strengthening, Legal Services, and Crisis Intervention in North Tahoe

September is Hunger Action Month, so attention to food insecurity at a local level is top of mind to residents and businesses alike.  Sierra Community House provided nearly 293,000 meals to families and individuals facing food insecurity in the region in the last year.

Be sure to stop by RAKKAN Ramen to check out their tasty menu and learn more about how you can help support food insecurity in North Tahoe.  Community members can donate or even host a virtual food drive. Together we can make a profound difference in the lives of those facing food insecurity.
