June has been a month of vibrant community engagement for Sierra Community House, as we joined in on several exciting events that brought together neighbors, families, and supporters. From celebrating literacy to embracing creativity, here’s a glimpse into our June adventures.

Incline Village Library Block Party:

Kicking off the month on June 1st, we were thrilled to be part of the Incline Village Library Block Party, a lively celebration of literacy, learning, and community spirit. Our team had the opportunity to connect with local families, share information about our services, and engage children in fun activities focused on education and empowerment.

Tahoe Expedition Academy’s Inaugural Rainbow Run:

Tahoe Expedition Academy’s Inaugural Rainbow Run, Rock and Roll is colorful event that promotes fitness, fun, and inclusivity. Sierra Community House joined runners and walkers of all ages on June 9th, as they traversed along the Truckee River, spreading positivity and camaraderie along the way. It was inspiring to see the community come together to support each other’s health and well-being, and we were honored to be part of such a spirited and uplifting event.

Round House Makers Market:

Additionally, we had the pleasure of attending the Round House Makers Show on June 9th, a celebration of local artisans, creativity, and craftsmanship. The market showcased a diverse array of handmade goods, from jewelry and pottery to textiles and woodworking. Our team offered a planting activity for green onions and connected with talented makers to share about our services.

Sierra Community House’s Annual Tahoe Gal Giving Society Fundraiser:

Each year, our Giving Society members set sail aboard the Tahoe Gal, surrounded by the beauty of Lake Tahoe for a delicious and impactful evening. On June 13th, members mingled on the rooftop and enjoyed champagne under the sunshine. Amie Quirarte, our newest board member, shed light on how vital services changed her life and why this need remains large. Dinner creations by Chef Yorkey were served and enjoyed as the evening ended with a collection of generous donations and new giving society members.

As we reflect on our June adventures, we are filled with gratitude for the opportunity to be part of these memorable events and connect with our community in meaningful ways. Thank you for your continued support and partnership as we work together to build a stronger, more connected, and more vibrant community for all.
