Non-profit brings together renowned local chef, beloved Truckee musician, Tahoe area artist, farmers, and winemakers for “Blue Harvest: United to Nourish,” a Farm-To-Table Dinner benefiting local hunger relief
North Tahoe and Truckee, CA – July 15, 2024 – Sierra Community House, a local organization that empowers the community through family strengthening, crisis intervention, hunger relief, and legal services, has announced their first ever “Blue Harvest: United to Nourish,” an exclusive 125-seat farm-to-table experiential dinner at the stunning Dancing Pines venue in Sierraville on August 25, 2024. This event will activate local experts in food, music, art, farming, and winemaking all to benefit Sierra Community House’s Hunger Relief program which has historically served nearly 300,000 meals to food insecure residents each year.

- Transporation will be provided between Sierraville and Truckee

- What to Expect:
- The Meal: A meticulously crafted five-course meal with local ingredients and wine pairings by celebrated local chef Meredith Miller Elliott, who said “Food is my love language. Food is how we all tell the story of where we’re from, where we’ve traveled, and where we are now. At a long table, we have the chance to come together to form a friendship, tell a story, start a conversation and cherish the evening. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to cook for you all, in this beautiful place that we live in and love, with the goal of helping others, and to begin a discussion of how we can continue to help those in our community.”
- The Mingling: Guests will meet and mingle with local farmers and winemakers. Including, Forlon Hope Wines
- The Music and Art: Local Tahoe musician Ben Fuller will provide live musical entertainment and local artist Ian Scott will be conducting a live painting experience during the event
- The Mission: 1 in 10 community members in California will face food insecurity, and Sierra Community House provides nutritious supplemental food to nearly 3,000 community members in North Tahoe and Truckee every year. By attending, guests will directly contribute to initiatives that support those in need.

- Patrick Kratzer, Director of Hunger Relief Operations at Sierra Community House. He runs the distributions that feed thousands of local North Tahoe and Truckee residents each year.
